Our program is based at Brownwood Park Recreation Center in East Atlanta, a city-owned facility that we now manage. We collaborate with the Atlanta Dept. of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs and more than a dozen other key partners to provide more and higher-quality educational and recreational opportunities for youth each year.
Key components of our after-school program include tutoring in math and language arts, art enrichment, structured fitness activities, computer skills training, nutrition education, sex education, vocational and life skills classes. Kids Club is designed for youth ages 7 to 12, while Teen Club is designed for youth ages 13 to 17.
Both after-school programs meet on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:30 to 6:30 pm, and on Saturdays from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at Brownwood Recreation Center.
From February to May 2010, we are offering weekly SAT Preparation Classes to local 10th and 11th graders on Thursdays from 5:3o pm to 7:30 pm, in partnership with Kaplan Education and the East Lake Foundation CREW Teens program.
Once or twice a month, the youth go on field trips to recreational, educational and cultural venues, usually on Saturdays.
